Behoud van onze geschiedenis en erfgoed

Een belangrijk deel van de activiteiten in 2007 zal bestaan uit het behoud van de geschiedenis en de herinnering aan IGJ 1957. Het "IGY Gold" geschiedenis initiatief heeft verschillende doelstellingen:

  • het identificeren en erkennen van de planners en deelnemers aan het eerste IGJ,
  • het behoud van de verhandelingen, artikels, foto's, en alle stukken van historische waarde voor het IGJ,
  • het toegankelijk maken van deze stukken voor historici, onderzoekers, enz.,
  • dienst doen als contactdienst voor deze activiteiten,
  • de bewustmaking van de geschiedenis van de geofysica, en
  • het plannen van speciale evenementen en "reunies."

 

De IGJ "Gold" Club

De IGJ "Gold" Club identificeert deelnemers van het eerste IGJ (goud symboliseert de 50ste verjaardag). Om lid te worden van de Gold Club, moet je voldoen aan drie voorwaarden:
  • Je moet een deelnemer geweest zijn aan het eerste IGJ
  • Je moet een stuk met historische waarde bijdragen aan het initiatief. Het kan een brief zijn, een herinnering, een artikel, een foto, enz.
  • Je moet bereid zijn dat stuk publiek beschikbaar te stellen aan historici, bibliotheekwetenschappers, en andere mensen die geïnteresseerd zijn in het onderzoeken en bewaren van de geschiedenis van de geofysica.

"Gold club" deelnemers zullen beloond worden met een speciaal "IGY Gold Anniversary" certificaat van erkentelijkheid (Klik hier voor een voorbeeld) van de IUGG en een speciaal "IGY Gold" herdenkingsspelje.

Het "IGY Gold" herdenkingsspeldje werd speciaal ontworpen voor de 50ste verjaardag van het IGJ, en enkel leden van de IGY Gold club zullen dit speldje krijgen.

The "IGY Gold" commemorative lapel pin and certificate of recognition have been specially designed for the 50th anniversary of IGY, and only members of the IGY Gold club will be issued this pin and certificate of recognition. Each member of the IGY gold club must contribute an item of historical value. This can include an anecdote, memoir, photograph (scanned or original) or letter. Sometimes the most unusual items turn out to be the most interesting historically!

The certificate of recognition can feature several organizations. The IUGG (International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics) is the host organization for this program. Additional geophysical societies are participating in this activity:
